Lush is a dangerous place for me to be. There's always so many lovely things, everything smells divine and just the whole concept of that store, it gets me every time. This time I went in to have a little look around for Christmas presents and such and came home with a whole bag of bath time goodies just for myself - what can I say, you gotta treat yourself sometimes eh? I wanted to try new things that I've never bought before, so I got four new to me bath products - some from their festive collection and some of their usual stock.

With the weather getting warmer comes the time for bare legs and more skin on show. I love being able to finally wear skirts and shorts out and about without freezing my butt off even though there's still some room for improvement temperature wise. The thing is though, after the long dark winter my skin is far from ready to be shown, I'm as white as white can be, a ghost if you like. There's no lovely tan, no healthy glow, just dull, pale, dry skin that accentuates every little imperfection I have going on. Now I'm not one for fake tan so that's that option out of the window but what really helped me confidence wise when it comes to getting my legs out is this gorgeous BB Body Milk by Biotherm.

Last Friday me and a couple of friends had a private little makeup workshop at Lombagine, to learn more about what colours suit each of us and what the best techniques are when it comes to applying the products. As I'm a bit of a makeup geek anyway there wasn't much I hadn't heard before but it was still a nice experience. And who would have thought I'd suit green eyeshadow? GREEN! Not me that's for sure, but it worked so well I'm tempted to raid the shops for my perfect green!

A few weeks ago I entered a little international giveaway on Lose the Road to win some bath products from Canadian brand live clean. And I was lucky enough to win these beauties! Thank you so much once more Renee for hosting this giveaway and for sending this lovely little parcel all the way over here to Germany. I was so excited to give them a go and practically jumped in the shower as soon as I had the photos taken.
If you, like me and most Europeans didn't hear about live clean before, they're a Canadian brand focusing on natural products only. That means their products are environmentally friendly while still being effective and a joy to use. I was quite impressed reading up on them actually! I think buying products like these and therefore making a healthier choice not only for yourself but for nature as well is so so important to do. It sends the right message to all companies using nasties in their products just for the sake of raising their own profits. I know this has been said lots and you may be tired of hearing it already, but we only do have this one world and we better start looking after it wherever we can, it's not too late yet to make small changes for the better. And if we all do it will make a BIG impact in the end. The live clean products are 96 - 98% plant derived, they don't contain phthalate or parabens which can be the cause of allergies and rashes amongst other things.
The four products I have here with me are a shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap. The hand soap is enriched with monoi oil, which is used to make your skin feel soft and supple, protected and hydrated. The other three products are from the argan oil range, which has restorative and replenishing powers. All four products smell absolutely divine and are so nice to use. The body wash and soap build a nice lather on the skin, which means you really don't need a lot of product. And can we also just take a moment to admire how nicely designed the bottles are? They look pretty and feel good too, gosh I'm in love! I'm really impressed with these and am glad to have them standing on my shower rack ready for me to use them again for my evening shower tonight.
Have you ever tried live clean products? What did you think? And what are your favourite natural bath and body products? Leave me a comment to let me know.
Lots of Love,
Jess xx

I'm typing this while the sun's shining through my window and the bird's are tweeting and it feels sooooo good to finally welcome spring! With the new season come new favourite colours as well as lipstick shades. I'm really into anything rosé coloured, subtle pink shades and blushed tones at the moment so expect to see a lot of that in this post. Not all of these are new purchases, on the contrary, most of these have been in my makeup stash for quite a while now and I only just rediscovered them last week when I had a big old makeup spring clean. So here's my favourite spring lip products:

I've been given these Dr. Hauschka goodies by a friend last year and it took me until now to write about them! Truth be told it also took me quite a while to start testing them as I'm quite the hoarder when it comes to bath and body products and so I had approximately 7 other bubble baths to get through before opening this one. However, now that they've all been tried and tested thoroughly I'd like to tell you guys about them!

Recently I found myself in the situation of having to kill some time at Gatwick airport. If you've ever been to Gatwick's South Terminal you'll be familiar with the massive Duty Free shop that you have to walk through after security check in to get to your gate. Well let me tell you.. it's a dangerous place! As I was in no hurry to get to my gate this time round I had a little look around there and found myself at Jo Malone, a shop I absolutely adore and wish we would have here in Germany. I had my eye on a few of their fragrances for a while so I knew exactly what I wanted! Unfortunately they had sold out of Wood Sage & Sea Salt already which I have to admit was top of my list BUT they had another favourite in stock: Peony & Blush Suede!

So recently I seem to be in a continuous state of hurry.. I either need to be somewhere, do something, get some work done, think of Christmas presents... the list goes on. But now that I have ALL my Christmas presents - on the 6th of December! YAY for being super organised this year haha - I've finally got the time to tell you guys about my favourite super quick body moisturisers! I love using these two after a quick shower with not much time to spare.

Hi guys! Today I wanted to share my thoughts on some of the products from H&M's new beauty range that I picked up a couple of weeks ago. I've thoroughly tested the few products I chose, which are a nail polish, a single eye shadow and a lip stain (well and nail polish remover as you can see from the photo above but nothing much is to say about that except that it does it's job, is cheap and acetone free ;) ) I also desperately wanted to try one of their matte lipsticks simply because I'm a sucker for matte lipsticks and am still on the hunt for a berry/deep purple winter shade in a matte formula that preferably comes without the MAC price tag.. but however often I had a look into the beauty section there weren't any around, which is a bit disappointing.. but I haven't given up hope on it yet! But enough of that.. here's what I thought about the products I did get :)

So last week when I went into a MAC store and came out with another two new lip product purchases I just really felt like sharing my growing collection of MAC lippies with you guys. I'm finding it harder and harder to resist buying ALL the matte lipsticks in there! My collection is also mainly made up of their matte formula lipsticks as (for me anyway) a 15£ rouge à lèvres is a bit of a splurgey item and therefore has to be better than anything I can get at the drugstore. And the MAC matte formula really is the best! I find even their bold colours to be so incredibly long lasting and smudge proof that I'm willing to invest haha! ;) That being said I also own a Lustre and a Cremesheen finish lipstick and a lipliner that'll make a quick appearance in this post as well.

I've been on the hunt for the perfect mattifying foundation for basically my entire teen+adult life. I said this before on this blog but my skin is rather oily and after spending an entire day running around the city my face tends to look a lot like freshly fried bacon (yes I am exaggerating.. but you get my point). So when I went into Boots a couple weeks back I just had to pick up the L'oréal Infallible 24H-Matte foundation! I've heard a few bloggers talk about it before either really really praising it or absolutely hating it so here I am telling you my thoughts on it :)

I've been wanting to do a post on my skincare routine for so long now but then always switched things around a bit and never really stuck to a set routine with set products so it never seemed like I could write a proper post on it. But things changed! I'm so happy with all the products I'm currently using and have been using for months now that I decided it was finally time to share. My skin in case you wondered is combination on good days and oily on most days - it's a constant battle. I'm prone to breakouts so my skincare is mainly targeted at keeping those at bay.

Today I'm talking about the newest addition to my fragrance stash. I got YSL's Black Opium for my birthday back in April and I am soooo in love with it! As I am the worst when it comes to describing fragrances I'm just gonna tell you what's in the bottle:

I haven't done many hauls on this blog but lately I have felt veeeery spendy so I thought why not share my purchases of the last couple of weeks. Like I said, this has been accumulated over a few weeks and I didn't just buy all of this in one trip into town (see how I'm trying to justify already?). So enough talking here's what I got:

Last week my new makeup bag finally arrived after its long journey from London to my house. I wanted to order one of the Maggs London bags ever since they first came out as they're all so super gorgeous, but as they don't exactly come cheap (what with postage and all that) it took me a while to take the plunge. I'm so glad I did though!

A couple of weeks ago I picked up this little gem, the 'Beauty Book' by Neal's Yard Remedies. I knew I had to get it as soon as I saw it as I'm a big fan of 'Healing Foods' by Neal's Yard - my bible when it comes to food! I even did a post on it way back, when this blog was just a couple of weeks old, which you can find here.

No, you're eyes aren't playing tricks on you! It's true! It's real! I'm alive and posting! I'm so sorry for the long silence on here but I've been super busy with uni this last month and didn't really find much time for blogging let alone find the inspiration for a blog post as I've literally been sat at my desk studying all day everyday surgically attached to scripts and books and all sorts of revision material, leaving the house only for the most necessary of errands. But the semester is almost over, most of my exams are done and dusted and things are (ever so slightly) looking up again. Exam period for me means lots of online shopping to cheer myself up and so today I thought I'd show you my little Origins skincare haul.

When I recently cleared out my make up collection I came across quite a few lip balms. I definitely own enough to last me for the next two years plus. So I thought I'd pick out my favourite ones and newest additions and share them with you today.
