H&M Beauty | First Impressions
Wednesday, November 04, 2015Hi guys! Today I wanted to share my thoughts on some of the products from H&M's new beauty range that I picked up a couple of weeks ago. I've thoroughly tested the few products I chose, which are a nail polish, a single eye shadow and a lip stain (well and nail polish remover as you can see from the photo above but nothing much is to say about that except that it does it's job, is cheap and acetone free ;) ) I also desperately wanted to try one of their matte lipsticks simply because I'm a sucker for matte lipsticks and am still on the hunt for a berry/deep purple winter shade in a matte formula that preferably comes without the MAC price tag.. but however often I had a look into the beauty section there weren't any around, which is a bit disappointing.. but I haven't given up hope on it yet! But enough of that.. here's what I thought about the products I did get :)
The nail polish I got is in the shade FOIL BLUSH, a nice metallic rusty/pinky/red. The colour is quite unique in my extensive polish collection as I don't usually go for metallic on my nails. Something however spoke to me in this and for only 3.99£ I thought it would be a nice new addition to my stash. Applying it though was the first challenge.. it is rather streaky and even after the second coat my nails didn't really look evenly covered and still a bit streaky.. So no points there. Next up: lasting power. Very disappointing.. I felt like the colour chipped literally from looking at it.. after only an hour of wearing it it looked quite chipped and not so pretty anymore. So all in all I won't be purchasing any more H&M nail polishes because their quality just really didn't convince me, I'm sticking with Essie :)
Next up is this super pretty greyish brownish mauvy eyeshadow in the shade MOJAVE. It's got a slight glitter and metallic effect and goes on super creamy and smooth . The pigmentation of this eyeshadow is rather good as well! I was quite surprised how a little bit of MOJAVE really does go a long way. It also stays put an entire day and doesn't vanish after a couple of hours (and that's without primer!) . I'm a fan of these and I will definitely be getting more shades! I also find the packaging of these quite pretty. That's 4.99£ well invested
Last but not least I got the Gossamer Lip Stain in the shade STORYTELLER. This is such a lovely colour! It's a muted pinkish red that's super easy to wear during the day as well as for a night out. It feels smooth on the lips not drying at all but still stays on for absolute ages, just as a lip stain should. I've never before tried lip stain products but these won me over and I think I'll be on the lookout for more great shades :)
So this is it. That's all the H&M Beauty products I tried and tested so far. Have you gotten anything from their beauty department? Or do you have any of the products I mentioned? How do you like them? Do you get in with the nail polishes or do you agree with my verdict of them being not exactly good quality? Well a lot of questions this time.. do leave me a comment and tell me your thoughts :)
Lots of Love,
