Favourite Christmas movies | Blogmas Day 10
Saturday, December 10, 2016It's the most wonderful time of the year! Not least because you can watch all those movies you've seen a hundred times before all over again without feeling guilty for it. I'm an absolute creature of habit when it comes to my favourite Christmas movies. I have a set list of things to watch in the lead up to Christmas /in the holidays and I never miss a single one! Here's my faves:
Love, actually
There is no better Christmas film than Love actually! It's got the creme de la creme of British actors in it, it's funny, it's romantic and it's set in London - AT CHRISTMAS TIME! What more could you want from a movie really? I can't really believe that it's already 13 years old though! If you watch this and don't get in the Christmas spirit, there's no help for you I'm afraid..
Bridget Jones
I said it before and I'll say it again: I'm the world's biggest Bridget Jones fan! I love love love this film and while it's not necessarily a Christmas film the most important scenes are set at Christmas time. And I just made it my habit to watch it every single advent time! Join in, you won't regret it!
Home Alone
Wasn't Kevin like everyone's idol growing up? I loved watching the film as a kid and wanted to have the same adventurous life that Kevin had. 20 odd years later I still enjoy this a lot. I can still laugh about it every time I watch it and it's one of those films that is best watched together with all the family! We love it!
The Holiday
Well hello there Jude Law! If this isn't reason enough for you to wanna watch this, think snowy landscapes in the British countryside, a cackling fire in a lovely little cottage and all the romance! And there you go, that's The Holiday for you - or one half of it (my favourite half). Tell me you don't wanna watch it now!
A Christmas Carol (the 1951 version!)
This is so much like the book! I don't know but everything about it is just right. It looks very Dickensian and the actor playing Scrooge is doing a great job at it! And the story in and of itself just has to be one of my favourite Christmas tales. I'm sure you've all seen one version or another of this, but I urge you to give this one a go (best go for the original black and white one, not the colourised one..)
Lots of Love,
Jess xx
