Turning 26 | My Birthday in Words & Pictures

Tuesday, April 19, 2016

I had the best birthday this year celebrating with all my family and friends! More so it was like an elongated birthday period of 4 days with lots of food and cake and drinks and fun. I was off work on my actual birthday on Thursday so I had a slow start to the day, sleeping in, having a bath and decorating my previously baked cakes with as many strawberries as they could hold. My day then constituted of having cake and a good old chinwag with my best friend followed by having more cake and more chats with my family and finally a cosy evening in front of the telly! I loved it!

My dad took me out for our traditional birthday meal on Friday night. We basically do this every year and I get to chose the restaurant I'd like to go to. This year I wanted to try out a new burger place in town called Weissglut. I had a delicious cheeseburger and fries and the restaurant even treated us to a free cocktail! It was a lovely evening and I went home with a major food baby.. but that's what happens when you eat two week's worth of calories in two days I guess haha!

On Saturday my London bestie & favourite Austrian lady Conny arrived for a sleepover and some more celebrations. It was so nice to finally spend some time together again! We had last seen each other in London in November but hadn't spent a weekend together in yonks! Pressies were exchanged, champagne was sipped and memories were recalled while we were laughing til we cried about the good (and sometimes embarrassing) old times. We then went into town to meet up with my other friends and watched 'How to be Single' which was really funny and surprisingly un-cliché! I recommend you go see it if you're into a light hearted comedy that makes you laugh lots but also gets a message across! The night obviously called for more drinks so we went to a bar before we called it a night (26 remember? I'm not gonna be out partying all night, I'm a granny now haha!)

After going through some more old photos with my friend while brunching on Sunday morning it sadly was time to say goodbye again. I feel so lucky to have great friends like that and to have spent my birthday with my favourite people. I got lots of really thoughtful presents and the most gorgeous bouquet of flowers that I wish could last forever! Now onto year 27 and all the new things it will bring, I'm excited already :)

Lots of Love,
Jess xx
