Neal's Yard BEAUTY BOOK

Wednesday, February 25, 2015

A couple of weeks ago I picked up this little gem, the 'Beauty Book' by Neal's Yard Remedies. I knew I had to get it as soon as I saw it as I'm a big fan of 'Healing Foods' by Neal's Yard - my bible when it comes to food! I even did a post on it way back, when this blog was just a couple of weeks old, which you can find here.

This time round the guys from Neal's Yard bundled together all things beauty for us! There's plenty of recipes for face masks, cleansers and all things beauty and skin care! It also contains a very interesting overview of all the ingredients used in beauty products and shows which chemicals used in some of the products we purchase aren't very good for us and how they can easily be substituted with other ingredients.

There's also numerous tests for you to find out exactly what skin and hair type you are and what the right care for that type is. You can even find little makeup tutorials on looks based on the four elements and tips and tricks for applying makeup. What's more, there's even a step-by-step on a DIY face massage and a How-To on some hairstyles!

Generally, the book is divided into several sections, starting with an overview of all the ingredients and what they do for you, going on to skin care: first recipes for your face, then makeup. After that you'll find recipes for your body, i.e. body butters, bath bombs and so on. Next is all things hair care, followed by recipes for your hands and feet.

I have to say I love this little book. While some of the recipes use a lot of kinda hard to get ingredients there are still plenty of recipes that are easy to recreate and I can't wait to get started! I have my eye on a face mask I wanna try so let me know if you'd be interested in a blog post about how I got on with the recipe and what I thought of the product in the end.

Have you got any of the Neal's Yard books? Do you use Healing Foods as regularly as I do or have you been considering getting the Beauty Book for a while? Let me know in the comments below.

Love,
Jess x
