March Favourites | 2016

Tuesday, March 29, 2016

Wow, so that's March over and done with already! It's crazy how this year literally seems to fly past! To be honest with you I was hoping to share some pretty photos of blossoms and a sunny Easter egg hunt or something but March hasn't been treating us all that well. One day the sun as well as the temperatures promised spring the next morning I woke up to find everything covered in a thick layer of snow. Exhausting! Nevertheless, spring is what you make of it right? So a lot of my favourites are still rather spring-inspired and colourful. Let's get started :-)

Career of Evil by Robert Galbraith
I'm currently on page 243 of Cormoran Strike's newest case and I'm finding it hard to put this book down! Not only is the latest gruesome case that landed on Stike's assistant Robin's desk mysterious and dark and therefore extremely gripping, but we also finally learn a little more about the protagonists pasts. I'm in love with this book. It's the third in Robert Galbraith's series about private detective Cormoran Strike and I can't wait to find out what's going on, who sent the gruesome parcel to Robin and whether any of the suspects so far really had anything to do with it! In case you don't know, Robert Galbraith is a pseudonym for international bestselling author Joanne K. Rowling. Well if that's not a reason for you to give the series a read I don't know what is. :-)

Essie 'Lilacism'
Like I said, I won't let the weather bring me down, spring starts NOW! And so does the season for pastel coloured nail polishes. My current favourite is an old favourite of mine, Essie's lilacism. It's a pretty, easy to wear, not too girly lilac colour perfect for this time of year!

Newest addition to my private jungle: my bromeliad
So, I went to Ikea. If there is one thing I buy literally everytime I enter an Ikea store it's plants. My room is slowly but steadily turning into a jungle. And that's exactly where my newest addition comes from! Bromeliads grow on top of trees in the jungle, so they get more sunshine then they would if they grew on the ground (my friends a florist! Handy!) I can't get over how pretty it is! It's also quite easy to take care of, always a plus!

Maybelline's The Blushed Nudes palette
I've had my eye on this for a while now and even heard many people compare it to the Naked 3 palette, which is also what sold it to me initially. I was a bit sceptical about the glitter at first, as I'm not really into shimmery eyeshadows all that much. But the colours are super pretty, perfect for spring and I love creating romantic boho looks with this palette. The glitter is actually not at all visible on the lid so no problem there. The shadows are also very pigmented so a little goes a long way.

Pretty Little Liars
I'm simply obsessed with this show! Now that's not exactly news as I've been watching it for years but the last season '5 years forward' is just so so good! I like how the girls are all a little more grown up now, all have their different careers and everything and well the story is just as gripping as always. If you have never watched Pretty Little Liars I urge you to do that right now! You won't regret it! But you might be glued to your laptop for the next month or so (I warned you!)

Shape Magazine
I was on the hunt for a new read and came across Shape magazine, which I never read before. I quite like the different topics it covers. There's workout routines, healthy recipes, beauty and all sorts. This issue focuses on yoga which I found especially interesting. So I will cook and yoga my way through this to get in 'shape' :-)

So these are my March favourites! What were yours? Leave me a comment to let me know :-)

Lots of Love,
Jess xx

    1. I know right!? I still find myself staring at it at times haha :) Oh no, I hope you don't have to wait much longer, waiting for new seasons to be available is probably the most annoying thing ever.. I know what I'm talking about..

  2. I have Career Of Evil on audiobook and I can't wait to get reading it. Although, I haven't read the first two so I'll have to get those out of the library first before I read this one. That's on my TBR for next month :)
