March Favourites

Thursday, April 09, 2015

I am aware that this post is rather late but I still really wanted to share it with you. I found a couple of new things I love this past month and rediscovered some old favourites. There's a little bit of everything in this month's favourites - or in fact in any of my favourites. So here comes:

I finally got myself a spiralizer and fell head over heels in love with it! Nothing is save anymore, I will spiralize whatever vegetable I come across! My salads now play in a whole new league I can tell you that! And it wasn't even expensive!

I went to the cinema to see 'The Theory of Everything' and it was just as good as everybody said it was! I mean Eddy Redmayne and Felicity Jones are amazing in it! The Oscar for Redmayne was well deserved and I just really wanna watch it again!

I recently picked up another one of the Astor lip colour butters in the shade 'Amazon Chic' and it's so so pretty! The colour looks great and works well both for daytime and for going out at night. It's a kind of mauvy beige and the formula feels very nourishing on the lips, it glides on easily and won't cause dry lips - perfection.

Here's two books I read and loved this past month: The Silkworm by Robert Galbraith and The Girl On The Train by Paula Hawkins. I don't want to go into too much detail with these as a review of the latter is a work in progress and will soon(ish) be up on this blog. Both are amazing crime stories/ thrillers, both are set in and around London and both are amazing, I highly recommend each one of them!

I'm rather late on this one but finally jumped on the bandwagon and got myself a Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. I was quite sceptical about the whole beautyblender business but decided to give it a go anyway after reading so many good reviews. I'm glad I did as it completely changed the way I apply foundation and makes my make up look FLAWLESS! I feel like I use way less product and my foundation looks almost skin like, not cakey at all and just a lot more natural. I'm a convert and I will never stray from the sponge again ;-)

HARVEY! SPECTOR! I'm swooning over Harvey on a regular basis when watching Suits which is one of my favourite shows on Netflix at the moment. I don't think I need to explain this just take a look for yourself.. Even though this alone is a pretty good reason to watch Suits, I love everything about it! The story, the characters - let's just take a moment to admire Donna as well! - and the setting being this business environment that begins to feel more and more real to me as I'll be finishing my business degree in shockingly few months.

I said it before and I'll say it again, I'm a massive Essie fan! I have spent a fortune on Essie nail polishes during my life time and have a shelf full of all sorts of shades. 'Lilacism' is my newest addition to the family. It's - as the name suggests - a really pretty pastely lilac colour that's so apt for the season and spring like weather we're currently having. I love it and have been wearing it on and off for weeks now!

This is definitely a rediscovered favourite: the Twinings White Tea and Pomegranate. It's such a light and refreshing brew that I just cannot get enough of at the moment. Lately I even preferred it to my everyday cup of green tea! I urge you to try it if you can get your hands on it where you are.

And last but not least, something to lighten the mood. You know that guy Bruno Mars? You know that song of his called 'Uptown Funk'? Well there's this other version on YouTube that is ten times better than the original (easy for me to say as I'm far from being a fan). Just this much: if you're as much of a Harry Potter nerd as I am you will love this! Silly, yes but funny too admit it ;-)

That's it from me for today! Let me know what you've been loving in March and what you think of my faves, are any of them staples in your life as well?

Love,
Jess x
