The Ultimate Rainy Day Survival Guide

Sunday, August 17, 2014

Even though it's only August - which I was hoping to spend by the lake sunbathing, sitting in the garden til late at night after a BBQ and wear shorts and dresses paired with sunglasses - summer seems to be a thing of the past already. For the past couple of days it's been chucking it down with rain and when I woke up this morning it was actually so cold I had to put on a jumper! Well then, see you next year summer! Now that my super summery plans for August don't really work out I had to find a couple of 'Rainy Day Pastimes' which I want to share with you today.

  • Read a book all cosied up on the sofa, wrapped up in your favourite blanket with a cup of tea in hand. You can find my Summer Reading List here
  • Give your wardrobe a clear out and get it ready for A/W
  • Watch innumerable chick flicks
  • Get your wellies on and take a nice refreshing walk in the rain
  • Bake a cake/muffins/cupcakes (anything that contains a high amount of sugar/chocolate)
  • Go to a café, order hot chocolate and sip it sitting by the window watching people hurry past
  • Do some online shopping, your wardrobe might need a few new pieces after the clear out
  • Take a trip down memory lane and flick through old photos/ watch old videos
  • Get some studying done (hypothetically)
  • Pick a DVD boxset and go through it in one day!
  • Have a spa day or enjoy an indoor pool
  • Go to the cinema
  • Have your friends over for dinner which you will cook together

Now that's my list of things to do on a rainy day. What do you do if the weather isn't all you hoped for? Are any of these points on your lists as well?

Lots of Love,
Jess x
