Lime & Mint Refresher | Summer Drinks

Tuesday, August 23, 2016

With the Sahara heat hanging over major parts of Germany this week it's more important than ever to stay hydrated. But sometimes, a simple glass of water won't cut it for me. For these occasions I love to make this refreshing little drink made of only four ingredients: lime, mint, water and agave syrup. It doesn't get much easier than that does it? So if you're suffering from the heat as well, or simply want a little refreshing beverage to hand, here's what you'll need to do:

Ingredients:

🍋 2 limes
🍋 fresh mint
🍋 1 1/2 l water
🍋 agave syrup

Peel and slice your limes first. Try to get rid of most of the white skin around the fruit as it might make your drink a little bitter. Add about a handful of mint leaves and put everything into a food processor and blitz it up. If you, like me, don't own a food processor/ blender with the capacity of 1 1/2l + simply add as much water as you can into your blender and then mix in the rest when you pour it into your jug. At this stage you can sweeten the whole thing with a drizzle of agave syrup - but be careful that stuff is really sweet so don't pour too much of it in!

Yep, that really is all there is to do! Put it in the fridge and enjoy it cool. The lime and the mint add something so fresh to the water that I simply cannot get enough of it. If you want to you can completely leave out the syrup for a healthier alternative of course :)

Let me know if you try this yourselves and leave me any links to summery recipes in the comments below :)
