Lunch at Tanya's Chelsea

Saturday, October 17, 2015

So last Saturday me and my friend Helen started our day with a healthy power lunch at Tanya's in Chelsea. If you don't know Tanya's, it's little café that serves raw food only. There's cold pressed juices, smoothies and even an entire page of cocktails on the menu - all uncooked! Helen had been there before so I got some good tips on juices worth trying and after studying the menu for 'only' about 30 minutes we both decided on meals we were quite happy with!

I went with the Thai Curry Noodles, which is a green curry with kelp noodles and various veggies as well as a little kale salad and it was really good! I was surprised by the taste of some vegetables I have never before eaten raw, like the cauliflower bits. I'm definitely gonna try 'cooking' more recipes myself that don't involve boiling cauliflower to death!

Helen had the California roll, which looked delicious and might just be what I try next time we go to Tanya's :)

For juices we went all colourful. On Helen's recommendation I got the My Doctor Juice which is made of beetroot, carrot, celery, apple, lemon & ginger (yay, ginger! :D ), while Helen herself went for the Alkalizer, a green juice made of kale, spinach, lemon, apple & cucumber. I was happy with my choice as it was super refreshing and really tasty.

But we didn't leave it there! Walking into the café you walk past their cake display and oh boy there were some pretty good looking cakes in there! So we just had to had some for dessert. Helen ordered the chocolate marble cake while I went for the chocolate peanut butter one. THEY WERE SO GOOD! But really really filling as well! I actually didn't even manage to eat all of it in the end, it was just too much right after lunch and our juices.

I'm glad we went there last week as the whole raw/ uncooked eating thing really intrigued me! I loved it and I'm definitely considering getting myself the cookbook or rather the Uncook Book as it's called to try and recreate some of the recipes at home.

What do you think about raw food restaurants and eating uncooked meals? Would you give it a go? Would you like to introduce more raw foods to your diet? Or have you been to Tanya's yourself? What did you think of it?

You can find Tanya's here: 35 Ixworth Place, SW3 3QX, London (tube: South Kensington or Sloane Square)

Lots of Love,

    1. You really should! I can't recommend it enough! I was really surprised myself how literally everything we normally eat can come in a raw version as well while still being suuuuper tasty! Definitely won't have been my last time trying raw either :) xx
