Immune Boosting Ginger Shots

Thursday, October 29, 2020

With October slowly turning into November, the days getting colder and the nights getting longer our immune systems need a bit of a boost to keep up with the demands. Also nothing like an immune system that's up to scratch when you're in the midst of a global pandemic eh?

This recipe combines the anti-inflammatory powers of ginger with the legendary vitamin C content of lemons as well as all the goodness from juicy apples and the antioxidants of a good pinch of cayenne pepper. And the best thing - you don't need a juicer to make this! Any blender will do!

Here's what you'll need:

2 apples
2 lemons
100g ginger
400ml water
cayenne pepper

Core and roughly chop your apples. Peel and cube the ginger and put it all in your blender. Add the juice of two lemons as well as two cups of water (~ 400ml) and blend as smoothly as you can.

Strain the mixture through a fine sieve or tablecloth, making sure to wring out all the juices.

Keep the juice refridgerated and use within 2 weeks of making it.

Now all that's left to do, is to start your day with a shot of this every morning to keep colds and flus at bay.

I hope you guys are all staying healthy. Do you have immune boosting recipes that help you get through cold and flu season? Let me know below.

Lots of Love.
