I recently visited Rothenburg ob der Tauber, a beautifully medieval town nestled between Nuremberg and Würzburg, right on the old Romantic Road and it's like stepping into a past century. So, so pretty! Rothenburg is also home of the world famous Christmas Village, a shop full of Christmas decorations, ornaments and bake ware, open all year round - the Grinch's worst nightmare :). I'll be back in December for sure! If you're ever in the area, stop and have a wander through this gorgeous town! You can walk all the way around the old town on the still intact city wall and take in the beauty of all the colourful half-timbered houses from above. There's such a variety of pretty little shops to stop and marvel at and more than one deliciously Italian ice cream parlour! The whole city is filled with al fresco dining spots which gives it the flair of Rome in summer! I told you, you should visit!

If you're into hiking and spending time out in nature you should also visit castle Rabenstein and the Sophienhöhle limestone cave, while in the area. You don't need to be the most outdoorsy of people or have loads of experience hiking for this trail as there aren't any tricky bits (I'm not either haha).

But enough babbling, let me take you on a little visual tour of the Franconian countryside:

Lots of Love,
Jess xx

I love little villages like these, small ones that most tourists have never heard of and so they still retain all of their original features. This is just LOVELY! xx
