How To Get Into The Christmas Spirit 101
Wednesday, December 03, 2014Only 21 days til Christmas! It's about time we got all the presents sorted and got into a festive mood. If you, like me, are really stressed out with studying at the minute and can barely find the time for a festive thought I suggest you follow this super easy 8 steps "tutorial" on how to get into the Christmas spirit in no time ;-)
1)
Use study breaks to get crafty and make nice decorations for the house. These two advent wreaths (I realise one of them is clearly not a wreath but I'll just go with it anyway..) took no time at all to make and made the flat look cosy and ready for Christmas in the blink of an eye.
2)
Buy a lot of golden star shaped things to hang on all the walls available. The gold adds warmth and basically screams Christmas.
3)
Do some baking. It's time for Christmas biscuits, Lebkuchen and mince pies (if you are into that kinda thing..) The whole flat will smell amazing and these biscuits are usually super long lasting as well! Have them with a glass of mulled wine and forget about the studying for a while.. You can find a post on how I made these on this blog on Sunday so keep your eyes peeled!
4)
Even more decoration! You might have seen me do a tutorial post on how I decorated this glass bowl all autumnal a couple of weeks ago. Well it's now Christmas in my glass bowl and this was literally a three minutes job!
5)
Get a book set around Christmas time that isn't too long or too hard to read and take some time in the evenings to just relax with a nice christmassy story.
6)
Get out all your Christmas scented candles. My favourite ones are 'Christmas Eve' and 'Snow In Love' by Yankee Candles.
7)
Get your Christmas sheets on the bed! This will instantly make you feel SUPER DUPER christmassy (it might also make you wanna stay in bed all day... )
8)
It isn't Christmas until I watched both 'Love Actually' and 'Bridget Jones'! They are my ultimate Christmas movies and I will never - I repeat never - get tired of them! Even though I have to watch them by myself because everybody I know is already tired of them.. But oh well #yolo ...
Yes, so now there is only one thing left to do, hope for some snow on Christmas Eve and quick amazon deliveries so that we really have all them presents sorted ;-)
I hope you liked this festive little post and followed the instuctions for a more festive lifestyle! ;-)
Love,
Jess x
